Terms and Conditions

Ms. Pellini’s Online English Classroom is a service that provides English language lessons, including: grammar, pronunciation, and conversation lessons online, via the internet through audio and/or video call. The classes will be 30 or 60 minutes long for individuals or small groups of 2-4 similarly skilled students.

Student Assessment

The first 15 minutes are free. Every student’s first interaction with the teacher will be a 15-minute-long assessment. This assessment will be at no cost to the student and can be scheduled separately or attached to his/her/their first lesson. This assessment is designed to enable the student to meet Ms. Pellini, familiarize him/her/themselves with the online environment and equipment, and to enable the teacher to assess the student’s current language skills and determine student goals.

Lessons

Lessons are individualized to meet each student's needs and can include: English language grammar; English pronunciation; American culture; and English language conversation. Lessons will be taught exclusively in English, or can be a hybrid of both languages if the student speaks Italian. The classes will be 30 or 60 minutes long for individuals or small groups of 2-4 similarly skilled students.

Lesson Registration

Lesson registration occurs via email. Dates, times, messaging platform, and names of students attending class must be agreed upon in advance with your teacher via email at: english@classroompellini.com. Ms. Pellini will send out the date(s) and time(s) of lessons, messaging platform, and name(s) of students at least 24 hours in advance. You simply confirm the date, time, messaging platform, and class roster by answering the teacher’s email at least 24 hours in advance. All lesson times will be communicated to the student in the student’s time zone.

Payment & Fees

All fees and transactions will be in US Dollars, unless otherwise agreed upon. All lessons must be paid for at least 24 hours in advance. You may choose whether to purchase individual lessons or packages of 4 or 8 lessons. Lessons bought in packages are intended to give students a discount when attending a full month of lessons and as a result have expiration dates as follows: packages of 4 lessons must be completed within two months of purchase date and packages of 8 lessons must be completed within three months of purchase date. Ms. Pellini’s Online English Classroom reserves the right to change fees at any time, with no prior notice. Payments shall be made using Venmo, Wise, or PayPal.

In completing a payment for an individual lesson or package of lessons you accept the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy of Ms. Pellini’s Online English Classroom.

Technical Requirements

Before the first lesson you are required to properly install a messaging platform. Accepted messaging platforms are: Google Meet, Google Chat, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom. Prior to the first lesson, please create an account for the agreed upon messaging platform and add Ms. Pellini as a contact. The student will also test his/her/their microphone and speakers prior to the first lesson. A microphone headset is not required, but highly recommended and should be tested before the first lesson.

The success of a lesson is dependent on a good internet connection. Broadband internet access is required to ensure sufficient sound and video quality. In isolated moments, when the lesson is presented with a slow internet connection, in which there is poor audio or video quality, the teacher may ask the student to switch off the camera to improve the audio quality.

Refunds

If you decide to terminate your course and will not attend the rest of the prepaid lessons, no full or partial refund will be issued by Ms. Pellini’s Online English Classroom. 

Ms. Pellini’s Online English Classroom reserves the right to cancel any lessons pre-arranged and/or prepaid in any circumstances and will refund the student with the remaining amount of the prepaid lessons that have not been completed (any third-party fees will be deducted from the amount due).

Cancelation & Tardiness Policy 

The student is required to be online and prepared for the lesson at the agreed-upon time.

If you are unable to attend the lesson at the agreed-upon time you must notify your teacher by email at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel the lesson with less than 24 hours notice or miss the lesson completely, the lesson will be considered as if it was completed and will not be fully or partially refunded. If you attend the lesson late, no additional time will be added to your lesson, it will finish at the scheduled time. Lessons will not be extended to accommodate for late arrivals. Make-up lessons will not be arranged to accommodate late arrivals.

The teacher reserves the right to terminate a lesson in the case of unforeseeable circumstances, including the following:

1. extremely bad audio quality

2. disruption of internet services on either side of the lesson

3. poor student behavior

If extremely bad audio quality and/or disruption of internet services are on the teacher’s side, the lesson will be rescheduled. If extremely bad audio quality and/or disruption of internet services are on the student’s side, the remaining portion of the lesson will be rescheduled on the first occurrence. In future occurrences, however, the lesson will be forfeited, no full or partial refunds will be issued. Rescheduled lessons must be confirmed 24 hours in advance and follow the standard lesson registration terms and conditions (see above: lesson registration). In the case of poor student behavior, the lesson will be terminated and the fees for the current lesson will be partially refunded proportionally to the amount of lesson remaining, no future lessons will be scheduled, and remaining prepaid lessons will be refunded. The definition of poor student behavior is exclusively up to the discretion of Ms. Pellini and can include: aggressive, sexual and inappropriate behaviors.

Expiration Date

If you buy a single lesson and/or a package of 4 lessons you must complete those lessons within six weeks from the date of purchase, if you buy a package of 8 lessons you must complete them within three months from the date of purchase. Otherwise you lose the right to complete them and no full or partial refunds will be issued.

Exclusion of Liability

Ms. Pellini’s Online English Classroom cannot at any time be held responsible for any damages, losses or issues caused by the performance or inadequacy of the services of any third-party entities and communication infrastructures (e.g.: the internet, cellular service, Google Meet, Google Chat, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.). 

Dispute Resolution 

Open communication is encouraged to resolve issues in an amicable way. Any disputes initiated by the student will be resolved with mediation and arbitration rather than litigation.
